Doland School plans to make up snow days the following way:

* May 3 (Friday)- regular school 

·  May 10 (Friday) – regular school

·  May 24 (Friday) – school will be in session and dismiss at 1:30.  This will now be the last day of school.

  o  May 23 – will now dismiss at 3:30 (not 1:30)

South Dakota HuntSAFE

 There will be a South Dakota HuntSAFE class held at the Redfield Public School lunchroom on Saturday, 4 th from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday, May 5th from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Please enter through the north service door of the kitchen. You should be 11 years old and turn 12 before the first of the year to attend. You must attend both days to complete the course. FFA Announcements

·  Any student in grades 9-12 next year interesting in attending the state FFA leadership retreat in Custer on July 9-12, please let Mrs. Coats know by Tuesday, April 30!


·  Any student in grades 10-12 interesting in attending National FFA Convention in October 2019, please let Mrs. Coats know by Tuesday, April 30!


·  Reminder, FFA chapter officer applications are due by NOON on Wednesday, May 1. Interviews will be held at 3:30 on Monday, May 6 in the ag room. Candidates must wear official dress for interviews.


·  Doland FFA chapter banquet will be Thursday, May 9 at 5 PM in the lunchroom. All FFA members are encouraged to attend. Please wear official dress. If you do not have official dress, please dress nicely (no jeans/sweats, tennis shoes or t-shirts).

Seniors- Rent a Kid

The seniors will be available for rent a kid projects.  Funds will be used to cover senior trip expenses/caps & gowns.  They will be available to do projects afterschool or weekends until May 17.  Please contact Melissa Knox if you have any spring projects. Melissa.knox@k12.sd.us

Summer Position Available

 The Spink County Weed Department is accepting applications for a summer spray applicator. Must be at least 18 years of age. For more information and application contact the Spink County Highway Department at 1518 E. 7th Avenue, Redfield, SD, or by calling 472-5008. Position open until filled. 

Title I Open House

Doland School Title I open house is rescheduled to Wednesday, May 1st at 2:00 in the Hubert H. Humphrey Auditorium. 

Doland FFA chapter officer applications are available on the FFA’s Google Classroom.

Completed applications should be turned in to Mrs. Coats by NOON on Wednesday, May 1. Interviews will be held on Monday, May 6 beginning at 3:30 PM in the ag classroom. All applicants must interview to be considered for a position. Please see Mrs. Coats for questions.

Summer Volleyball Camp in Redfield

 This will be coached by Brent Aldridge from NSU.  Cost of the camp will be $50….the volleyball team will pick up the other half.  Please have the flyer and money to me by May 10th.

This is open to any current 8-11th graders.
